I spent about two hours last night going through my music library with my mother, playing songs for her and transferring them to her laptop if she liked them. Some of her favorite artists were: Jean-Jacques Goldman, Journey, and Michael Jackson. Not surprising, they are kind of from her era. However, she also loved Green Day and Third Eye Blind. I think this shows her hidden hip, bad-ass side that stays hidden when you are raising a family in Kenya.
Also on the topic of music, it’s amazing how much people here love the song “Africa” by Toto. I named it my theme song for the trip half as a joke and half because it made Africa sound so amazing and I needed that. Every time I play it here, people love it. It’s my 10 year old brother’s new favorite song, my mother hums to it whenever it comes on, and even my co-workers jam out when it comes on at work. Amazing.
I was going to try and upload a video today, but it is proving sort of impossible. Instead for the picture of the day I am posting this action shot of wild buffalo. Pretty good stuff.
